Scholarship Application for ANA Summer Seminar 2013

The MNS is offering two (2) full scholarships and one (1) half youth scholarship to attend the 2013 ANA Summer Seminar, held on the campus of The Colorado College in Colorado Springs , CO .  Each scholarship is good for one Summer Seminar session.

 The seminar offers 2 sessions from which to choose. 

           Session One:  Saturday, June 22 to Friday, June 28 

          Session Two: Saturday, June 29 to Friday, July 5.

The award of a full scholarship carries a maximum value of $1500.  $1067 covers tuition which includes the class, double occupancy lodging in Loomis Dormitory for 6 nights, and 3 meals served daily at the Colorado College facility plus one optional evening session.  The scholarship will also pay for airfare or driving expenses to a maximum of $433.  Scholarship recipients can upgrade their room preference, attend various mini-seminars, and go on evening tours at their own expense.

The half youth scholarship carries a value of $750. 

Applicants must be an MNS member of at least one year and complete this application.  Applicants for the youth scholarship must be a MNS Junior member (under 18 years of age). All applications can be turned in at the January meeting or mailed to the club’s address above (please write summer seminar on the envelope) by February 17, 2013 .  The officers and board of directors will decide on the winning applicants and announce them to the membership at the February meeting.  Please note that attendees are required to join the ANA, if not already a member.

The selected applicants are required to give an educational program at an MNS meeting or write an article for the Missouri Journal of Numismatics within one year of attending the seminar.

An adult must be designated as responsible for the Youth.  This responsibility includes: ensuring that the Youth is registered for the Summer Seminar and for transporting the youth  to and from the Summer Session.

It is the intent of the Board that the youths receiving this scholarship participate in the youth designated activities at the ANA Summer Seminar.  This includes, but is not limited to, sleeping in the youth designated domitories, partipating in the Youth Auction and in general spending the session with the other youth attendees.
